One constituent. One framework. One reality.
The Harrison Grand Unified Theory (HGUT) is an open research program proposing that everything physical — space, matter, force, light — is a configuration of a single underlying medium. This page introduces the project itself: what it claims, why it exists, how it’s organized, and how to evaluate it for yourself.

What is HGUT, and why does it exist?
HGUT is a first-principles attempt to answer a question that standard physics does not: not only how nature behaves, but what nature fundamentally is.
The framework proposes that reality is built from a single constituent, and that particles, fields, spacetime, and the phenomena we observe are all different configurations of that underlying physical system.
HGUT exists because questions such as What is an electron?, What is spacetime?, and Why do quantum mechanics and General Relativity resist unification? Why do they remain open? Rather than accepting those questions as permanently unanswered, HGUT attempts to construct a mechanical explanation from first principles, developed progressively across the book series.
This page is not intended to present the complete technical framework. Its purpose is to orientate new readers to the project, introduce the central vocabulary, and explain how the theory is organized before they explore the mathematics and physics in the dedicated Theory section.
Graviton Sea
Fluid, unbonded phase.
Graviton Mesh
Bonded, structured phase.
Same constituent. Different phase.
What problem is HGUT trying to solve?
Standard physics predicts outcomes with extraordinary precision without settling what the underlying objects are. Pressed on it, the honest answer is usually: we don't know yet, but the math works. HGUT tries to close that gap.
What is an electron?
Standard physics
A localized excitation of the electron quantum field. It behaves like a particle but is fundamentally described as a quantum field excitation.
HGUT
A stable Harrison Knot—a localized topological structure within the Graviton Mesh that retains its identity whether free or bound within an atom. A stable Harrison Knot species—one member of the fundamental family of topological structures that constitute matter.
Where does mass come from?
Standard physics
An intrinsic property some particles just have, explained by the Higgs field.
HGUT
Strain a knot produces in a bonded lattice — a mechanical, measurable quantity.
What is spacetime?
Standard physics
A fundamental stage that curves in the presence of mass, for reasons unspecified.
HGUT
An emergent statistical description of the collective geometry and dynamics of the Graviton Mesh.
The ideas that define HGUT
A handful of terms recur throughout every volume. Understanding these is enough to follow the framework's logic anywhere on this site — the Theory section develops each one in full.
One constituent, two phases. Everything else in the framework is built from this.
Harrison Knot
The fundamental constituent — a topologically stable knot that is the medium, not something in it.
Graviton Sea
The unbonded, fluid phase of the medium. Massless, superfluid-coherent.
Graviton Mesh
The bonded, elastic-solid phase. Where mass, gravity, and matter become possible.
Super Ball
A bounded universe-domain — the medium contained within a real surface-tension boundary.
Super-Void Ether
The unstructured background substrate that universe-domains drift through.
How the medium produces the physics we observe — mass, gravity, and light.
Phase Transition (Sea ↔ Mesh)
The mechanism that turns topology into matter — HGUT's account of the Higgs mechanism.
Mass as Lattice Strain
Mass isn't intrinsic — it's the strain a knot produces in the bonded lattice.
Gravity as Mesh Response
Gravity is the medium's elastic response to matter. GR emerges as the coarse-grained limit.
Light as a Propagated Process
Light is a wave moving through the Graviton Mesh, not an object being transported.
Where the universe came from, and where it's going.
The Great Collision
HGUT's account of the Big Bang — two Super Balls colliding, triggering the Sea-to-Mesh transition.
Cosmic Breathing Cycle
Dormancy → collision → matter epoch → black hole processing → asymptotic return to dormancy.
Harrison Core / Black Hole Processing
Black holes recycle matter back toward its unbonded form — they don't destroy it.
Black Web = Dark Matter
Mesh reinforcement around galaxies, produced by black hole processing.
Dark Energy = Raw Graviton Exhaust
The accumulated exhaust of cosmic black hole processing, driving expansion.
HGUT's geometric reconstruction of measurement, entanglement, and Bell correlations — developed in depth in the Theory section.
Founding principles
A small set of commitments shapes every prediction the framework makes.
Nothing Comes From Nothing
Ex Nihilo Nihil Fit
No virtual particles, no divergent vacuum energy, no spontaneous creation from an empty vacuum.
Exact Energy Conservation
Energy is conserved exactly, always — no brief violations licensed by uncertainty.
One Fundamental Constituent
Every particle, field, and force is a configuration of a single underlying medium.
Spacetime Is Emergent
The metric is a statistical observable of the medium's collective behavior, not a primitive.
The Collective Is Never Static
Even the dormant medium retains irreducible baseline motion — there is no true stillness.
Reality Is Mechanical, Not Abstract
Mass, charge, and force are mechanical properties of a real substrate, not free-floating quantities.
Is this accepted physics? How should I evaluate it?
HGUT is a structural reconstruction program, not a claim that Quantum Mechanics or General Relativity are wrong. Both are recovered as limits where the framework closes. It is not a completed theory, and several sectors — Lorentz invariance, exact Maxwell electrodynamics, full Bell-program closure — remain explicitly open.
What makes HGUT different
Standard view
The vacuum is empty, populated only by virtual fluctuations.
HGUT
The vacuum is never empty — it's the medium in a less structured state.
Standard view
Particles are point-like objects in empty space.
HGUT
Matter is structured deformation of a continuous medium.
Standard view
Mass is an intrinsic property, explained by the Higgs field.
HGUT
Mass is emergent — strain a knot produces in a bonded lattice.
Standard view
Gravity curves an independent spacetime.
HGUT
Gravity is a mechanical response of the medium; spacetime emerges from it.
Standard view
Black holes are singularities that terminate infalling matter.
HGUT
Black holes recycle matter — no singularities, nothing is destroyed.
Standard view
The Big Bang is an expansion from an infinitely dense point.
HGUT
The universe began with a collision between two pre-existing domains.
Every claim carries a status
Criticisms welcome
HGUT wants the truth more than it wants to be right. Science advances through criticism, replication, and collaboration — if you find an error, challenge an idea, or have a better explanation, this project wants to hear it.
Open Source Physics
Every volume, derivation, and simulation is public. Nothing is held back for later reveal.
Independent Verification
Derivations and numerical results are structured so anyone can check them independently.
Public Revision History
Overclaims get retracted in the open. Corrections are recorded, not quietly edited away.
Honest Status Labels
Established, candidate, open, conjectural — every claim says exactly what it's earned.
Found a problem with a derivation? Think a claim overreaches?
Every critique either strengthens the framework or helps falsify it — both outcomes move the work forward.
HGUT at a glance
If you remember nothing else from this page, remember these ten statements — they're the mental map for everything else on this site.
- 1Reality is made of one fundamental constituent: the Harrison Knot.
- 2Space is not empty; it is the collective state of Harrison Knots.
- 3Mass is strain in the Graviton Mesh.
- 4Gravity is the collective response of the Graviton Mesh.
- 5Light is a propagated process through the Mesh, not a transported object.
- 6Black holes recycle matter rather than terminating it.

- 9The universe began with a Great Collision between two Super Balls.
- 10HGUT is an open research program that welcomes criticism and independent verification.
